A time has come for you to stop accepting shit like “this is the way we have always done things” – if you’re in an old ass industry that’s crumbling and your senior management says shit like this, get the fuck out.

No, don’t wait and see how your bonus looks. No, don’t wait for that one role that might be coming some day. Fuck them. You’ll make 3x going to a place where senior management gives a shit about evolving to win.

A place with at least one high-ranking leader who is serious about making money will give you all the opportunity you need. You’ll find people who think the stupid way at every business you go to, but it takes one person with juice (and you) to change it all. Watch what they are focusing on and master it.

Start thinking about where your industry is going. Every industry is fucked in its own way. It’s a magical time to be alive. Good luck explaining to your shareholders why you’re spending 3x to use a “relationship” favorite vs the people who have truly innovated and can now do the same shit at 1/3 the price. Stop thinking about 5% improvements and start thinking about what you can do that will impact exponentially.
